Minä viheliäinen ihminen, kuka pelastaa minut tästä kuoleman ruumiista?
Kiitos Jumalalle Jeesuksen Kristuksen, meidän Herramme, kautta! Niin minä siis tämmöisenäni palvelen mielellä Jumalan lakia, mutta lihalla synnin lakia.
CLV:
A wretched man am I! What will rescue me out of this •body of •death? Grace!
I thank God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Consequently, then, I myself, with the mind, indeed, am slaving for God’s law, yet with the flesh for Sin’s law.

5. Sillä kun olimme lihan vallassa, niin synnin himot, jotka laki herättää, vaikuttivat meidän jäsenissämme, niin että me kannoimme hedelmää kuolemalle,
Sf92:
Silloin kun vielä olimme turmeltuneen luontomme vallassa, ruumiissamme vaikuttivat lain herättämät syntiset himot ja me kannoimme hedelmää kuolemalle.
CLV:
For, when we were in the flesh, the passions of •sins, •which were through the law, operated~ in our •members ioto •be -bearing fruit to •Death

mutta nyt me olemme irti laista ja kuolleet pois siitä, mikä meidät piti vankeina, niin että me palvelemme Jumalaa Hengen uudessa tilassa emmekä kirjaimen vanhassa.
CLV:
Yet now we were exempted from the law, dying in that in which we were retained~, so that it is for us to be slaving in newness of spirit and not in oldness of letter.

Niin ei nyt siis ole mitään kadotustuomiota niille, jotka Kristuksessa Jeesuksessa ovat.
CLV:
Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to •those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit,

Niin ei nyt siis ole mitään kadotustuomiota niille, jotka Kristuksessa Jeesuksessa ovat.
Sillä elämän hengen laki Kristuksessa Jeesuksessa on vapauttanut  vapauttaa sinut synnin ja kuoleman laista.
CLV:
Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit,
for the spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus frees you from the law of sin and death.
