Ja Jumala on eläviksi tehnyt teidät, jotka olitte kuolleet rikoksiinne ja synteihinne,
joissa te ennen vaelsitte tämän maailman menon mukaan, ilmavallan hallitsijan, sen hengen hallitsijan, mukaan, joka nyt tekee työtään tottelemattomuuden lapsissa,
joiden joukossa mekin kaikki ennen vaelsimme lihamme himoissa, noudattaen lihan ja ajatusten mielitekoja, ja olimme luonnostamme vihan lapsia niin kuin muutkin;
